House Finches

Just sitting in my easy chair in front of my windows I am often presented with photographic opportunities. Today was no exception. These two gorgeous House Finches were feeding in my garden. At first I only saw one sitting on the ball on my fence post, then I saw them fluttering about in the flowers. It was a great opportunity to capture them in action.

I shot all of these shots standing in my living room through a glass window. For some reason the first batch was affected adversely, I believe by reflections that screwed with my focus. I shot these images at 1/8000th of a second. I was using my 70-200 f4 lens on my Canon 5D Mark II. My ISO was at 2000 and I was at f/4.0.

My favorite image is the one with the bird spreading its wings in mid-air. I hope you will enjoy these shots too.

Enjoy the images below.
