I love to shoot lightning. It's a challenge, and frankly I am terrified of it.....but, it gets my blood racing when I can find a safe place to shoot it from. Often my front porch.
Colorado is known to have some great thunderstorms and terrific light-shows to go with them. However, in the three months we have been here I have not had much to work with. Well that changed today.
I was playing with the settings I normally use, so some of these shots are especially grainy. The last two were shot at F22 and came out a little weird. I tried cleaning them up a bit in Lightroom and Photoshop.
The fifth shot in the series is my favorite. It was a 2 second exposure and I got an amazing sequence followed by the loudest clap of thunder I have ever heard.
