Painting With Rebecca Mataya

So, Rebecca and I tried to fit in as many photoshoots as possible before I left Las Vegas. We had a whole list of fun ideas. There were a couple of personal projects she wanted to do, and originally these were not going to be shared. However, now that a little time has passed, we both decided these needed to see the light of day.

Rebecca's main idea involved covering herself in paint. Having done photoshoots involving sustances covering the model before, I was reluctant to mess up my studio with paint.

Rebecca assured me it was water based paint and easy to clean up. Then I had an idea. My Mother-In-Law was moving out soon and her space downstairs had a huge glass shower with nice tiling. I proposed we shoot it in there, and Rebecca agreed. The shoot was on.

I set up a 500 watt constant light with a big softbox to fill the room with as much light as possible. I shot with my Canon 5D Mark II and my EF 24-70mm f2.8L USM lens. My settings revolved around 1/200 of a second at f7.1 and ISO 100.

Rebecca worked her magic as usual, and I think we achieved some interesting shots. As usual, I am including a wide selection of shots here so you can see a few fails along with the good stuff. Overall, I like these images and I miss working with Rebecca. I think I could propose almost any nutty idea to her and as long as it made sense she would do it. She's fearless in that way.
