Doll Del-Fuego

Doll Del-Fuego is a good sport, let's get that out of the way right off the bat. Not many people would readily volunteer to lay in a box of popcorn for an hour while someone stood over them taking pictures. Doll took the challenge and we got some cute shots.

I saw an image in a magazine of a girl posing in popcorn. I wanted to do my own version, so I put the word out and Doll signed up. I spent the night before the shoot popping an entire bottle of popcorn kernels. About 10 individual batches. I boxed it up and left it in my studio, big mistake. My studio smelled like a movie theatre for a week.

The setup was simple. I cut the end off of a carboard box that was as wide as my shoulders and laid out some towels for Doll to lay on for padding. Once she was in the box, I started pouring in the popcorn. I stood right over her and we worked on getting the shot I was after.

We then shifted to a second setup where Doll would work her way through my paper backdrop from the back. This proved to be a very fruitfull look. We got some terrific shots.

We finished up with some poses Doll wanted to do and wrapped up another succesful session.
