I always try to get to shows a little early and warm up shooting the earlier acts if I can. Sometimes I get great stuff.
In the case of Coles Whalen, I got to capture a gorgeous woman pouring her heart into her music. I only caught a couple of tunes and captured a few images, but I really like the shots and hope to catch her show again someday.
