Both my last picture of the year for 2014 and my first picture of the year for 2015. The New Years Eve fireworks on the strip in Las Vegas.
I shot this from 5 or six miles away in Henderson, Nevada. I set up on a hillside with my tripod in the wind and cold doing long exposures. My image quality suffered. I did get a free show from some drunk girls on a nearby balcony (no photos were taken) and what I thought was just going to be my space was invaded by thirty other cars 10 minutes before the show.
I wish I had gotten better images, but it's still a cool moment in time.
